Mike “Alfie” Howard

1988-1993 Worked in the Mental Health field for the NHS.
1993-2007 Voluntary Sector developing and managing projects within a Substance Misuse Service. This included an element of training.
2007-present Provided independent training and consultation to public and Voluntary Sector Organisations.
Alfie is an MHFA Instructor and YMHFA Instructor as well as being an ASIST
Trainer. He is a member of the MINT. Alfie lectures on the Swansea University
Approved Mental Health Professional Course. (AMHP -The substance Misuse Module).

Alfie is a MINTIE - a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers - he has been a member since undertaking his TNT in Heraklion, Crete, June 2003

2007-2010 Specialist Social Worker in the Community Mental Health Team.
2010-present Emergency Duty Team (EDT) Senior Social Work Practitioner.
2013-present Visiting speaker/facilitator at Swansea University for the BSc and Msc courses.
